创作背景
2015年的时候，吴亦凡在生日零点发布了亲自参与词曲创作的歌曲《Bad Girl》。吴亦凡称，在生日之际推出歌曲的模式已经变成一种传统，会在每年的生日推出歌曲，以此回馈听众的支持。因此，吴亦凡如期在2016年的生日推出歌曲《July》。《July》由製作人Karl Rubin操刀，吴亦凡参与了词曲创作，歌曲的录製在美国完成。在歌曲创作过程中，吴亦凡把对音乐的热爱、对生活的理解写进歌曲里。
